Event Report: Speaking at Vibe Coding Catfe + About Shipaton
AI was used for typo checking.
I’m Oikon. I work as a software engineer at a foreign IT company.
Over 4 days from July 29 to August 1, 2025, RevenueCat hosted an event called Vibe Coding Catfe!
RevenueCat is a US company that provides a platform supporting subscription management and monetization for iOS and Android applications. ChatGPT, Notion, and others use it.
In this article, I’ll write an event report and notes about speaking, along with useful information about Shipaton, a large-scale hackathon hosted by RevenueCat, for indie developers.

Vibe Coding Catfe

Event Overview
Vibe Coding Catfe was a summer event hosted by RevenueCat. By the way, it’s “Catfe” not “Cafe” (because RevenueCat). App developers, designers, entrepreneurs, and everyone interested in AI tools gathered to turn new app ideas into reality.
As “A Series of Unique Vibe Coding Catfes,” it was held in 3 iconic venues around the world:
- New York (June 27-28)
- Paris (July 11-14)
- Tokyo (July 29 - August 1)
Event Report

The venue for this event was Roppongi Hills Cafe. Renting it for over 4 days—how much did that cost… lol
There was a fairly flashy cat sign, so regular people were taking photos and peeking in, which was interesting.

The venue atmosphere was like this ↑ At peak times, about 100 people gathered at the venue.
Many came alone, so strangers were talking about Vibe Coding together.
Non-engineer participation was also common, with sometimes over half. A beginner-friendly atmosphere.

Drinks like coffee and light food were also provided. Hard to believe it’s a free event. It was a very comfortable environment, and participants could focus on learning about Vibe Coding!
My Talk: About Kiro

This time, I spoke on the afternoon of Day 2 (July 30).
Since I regularly share AI tool information on X (formerly Twitter) and was posting about Kiro on X and Zenn, I was approached. Unexpected things happen when you share regularly.
I was asked to “introduce Kiro,” so although it had only been about 2 weeks since release, I used it extensively before the event and introduced it.
The presentation was titled “AI Coding Tool Trends from Kiro’s Perspective.”

By the way, Kiro is an integrated development environment (IDE) that AWS started providing in preview on July 24, enabling Spec-Driven Development with VSCode’s feel.
Details are summarized in the presentation slides. Please check them out.
Talking with participants after speaking, it seems not just engineers but also non-engineers were interested in Kiro, which was good.
Summary
In this article, I introduced RevenueCat Shipaton and the event report for “Vibe Coding Catfe,” its kickoff event.
Overall, participants’ high motivation to learn was impressive! I was also able to feel through this entire event that we’ve entered an era where even beginners can develop apps!
I’m personally interested in Shipaton and plan to try mobile app development for the first time!
I was also surprised that regular sharing led to such speaking opportunities. I’ll continue to share useful information.
